Following exploration of a chance operation techniques, two main design methods emerged: an
allocation of random string of numbers to set out parameters to deform a structure and an idea of
imprinting various objects such as chainmail into a new medium. Those two techniques are being
used to generate design for the proposal.
The main proposal is a hammam which contrasts with existing tannery where animal skin is being
treated rather than human skin in the hammam. The fragments of the building such as external
envelope, slabs or tubs and treatment tables are cast out directly of the tannery site and assembled
together in order defined by random sequence . Columns act as a water distributing device to the
upper level but also as a structural support for an elevated terrace. The terrace provides views of the
cityscape and of the tannery below.
