Koutoubia Mosque Concert Hall

A mobile phone concert in The Royal Albert Hall. Steps for dressing performers in horse costumes. The call to prayer played from a pink, plastic mosque shaped alarm clock. A schedule for the photographic availability of the Sherlock Holmes statue at Baker Street. Parabolic pay phones projecting conversations. The noise of storks nesting on the ruined walls of the Medina.

All these things and more overlap, interact and clash around the ancient site of the (duplicate, misaligned) Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech. Generated through chance operations, coincidence and random design processes, the building reflects and becomes part of the chaos of the city.
